Now that the holiday preparations are over, it is time to look to the New Year and plan our sewing projects. SIYOB will take a vacation in January as many of us are attending one of the Quilters' Weekend Retreats at the Hampton Inn at the Center of New England in Coventry Rhode Island. There are still a few spaces in the various weekends if you find time in your schedule for this quilting activity. Drop me an email or give me a call if you are interested.
But looking ahead,....
I will be teaching the Quilt In A Day pattern, the "Flying Kite Quilt", at The Sew-Op in Wickford, Rhode Island this coming February and March. The class will be on Tuesday afternoons, February 11, 18 and March 10. Techniques will be taught the first two sessions. You will then have two weeks to make more units for the quilt. On March 10 we will learn how to "web" the blocks and begin to assemble our crib sized Kite Flight Quilts. We hope you can join us at The Sew-Op in picturesque Wickford Rhode Island. Class registration can be done by contacting Suzanne or by registering on the website at the-sew-op.com. All needed materials (pattern, fabric and 4 1/2 inch trim tool) will be available at The Sew-Op for this quilt.
Open Sew continues to be offered on Monday evenings 6 PM to 9 PM, Thursday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In January, there will be no Sunday afternoon sessions and no Friday morning session. However for January 2020, Thursday mornings have been added and will be from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Friday Mornings and Sunday afternoon Open Sew Sessions will resume in February. All sessions are $10.00 for the three hour session.
“Formerly Girl Gang” will be from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Friday afternoon, January 17, 2020.
PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE FOR JANUARY! Beacause of the Quilters'Retreats in January, Girl Gang has been moved to the THIRD FRIDAY AFTERNOON We will continue to work on our embroidery stitch samplers in 2020. Last month everyone received the schedule of stitches for the next year. If you did not receive a schedule and are interested in stitching along with the group, please send me an email. I will make sure you get the needed materials. Remember Show and Tell completes our afternoon, so please bring your projects to share with everyone. Sessions are $3.00 plus costs for any printed materials.
Chris Bagley’s UFO class will begin its Winter/Spring session in February. The group meets on Saturday afternoon from 1 PM to 4 PM. The dates are February , March , April , and May . Contact Chris by email at [email protected] to enroll in the next UFO series beginning in February 2020.
