February has arrived!
The winter has been kind to us in the Northeast this year (as I write this).
So it has provided great opportunities for Quilters to get out and about and sew with friends.
The Studio and Classroom of Island Creations by Louise will have a regular schedule of Open Sew Classes in February.
I will be away at the end of the month, But Mary will "man" the classroom in my absence.
Contact her if you have any questions about hours (401-523-4714) at the end of February.
Open Sew will be offered on Sunday afternoons from 1:30 to 4:30 PM, Monday evenings 6 PM to 9 PM, Thursday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Friday mornings from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. All sessions are $10.00 for the three hour session.
“Formerly Girl Gang” will be from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Friday afternoon, February 14, 2020.
We will continue to work on our embroidery stitch samplers in 2020. In December, everyone received the schedule of stitches for the next year. If you did not receive a schedule and are interested in stitching along with the group, please send me an email. I will make sure you get the needed materials. Remember Show and Tell completes our afternoon, so please bring your projects to share with everyone. Sessions are $3.00 plus costs for any printed materials.
Chris Bagley’s UFO class will begin its Winter/Spring session in February. The group meets on Saturday afternoon from 1 PM to 4 PM. The dates are February 15, March 14, April 18, and May 16. Contact Chris by email at [email protected] to enroll in the next UFO series beginning in February 2020.
There are still openings in The "Flying Kite Quilt" class being held at The Sew-Op in Wickford RI.
The class will be on Tuesday afternoon, February 11, 18, and March 10.
Techniques will be taught the first two sessions.
You will then have two weeks to make more units for the quilt.
On March 10 we will learn how to "Web" the blocks and begin to assemble our crib sized Flying Kite Quilts.
We hope you will join us at The Sew-Op in Wickford Rhode Island for this class.
